Generative AI vs Agentic AI vs Prompt Engineering

Prompt Engineering is the skill of writing clear instructions so an AI tool gives a useful answer. It is the shortest of the three and needs no coding.

Generative AI is the wider field of AI that creates text, images, code, audio and video. The Generative AI Master Course includes prompt engineering, then adds image generation, LLM basics, RAG, AI APIs and chatbots.

Agentic AI is about building systems that plan a task, use tools and APIs, check results and work through several steps within set limits. It is the most technical of the three, and basic programming is recommended before you join.

A common path is Prompt Engineering or AI Tools Mastery first, then Generative AI, then Agentic AI once you are comfortable with Python.

Do I need to know coding?

No coding is needed for AI Tools Mastery, Prompt Engineering, AI Skills for Every Business or AI Digital Marketing. The Generative AI Master Course starts beginner-friendly, and programming helps in its advanced development modules. The AI for Data Science and Cloud Computing with AI courses teach Python as part of the course. The Agentic AI Course expects basic programming, and learners who already know Python find it easier.

What every TIIT AI course teaches about responsible AI

Each course covers checking AI answers for mistakes ("hallucinations"), keeping personal and business data private, bias, copyright on generated content and keeping a human in charge of important decisions. AI is taught as an assistant whose output you review, not as a replacement for your own judgement.
